Sometimes making a modification to an airline ticket seems challenging but not when you are flying with American Airlines; it’s quite easy. All you need to do is just follow some simple steps. Let us explain this with an example. For Cancelling your ticket - Step 1 - Go to www.aa.com Step 2 - Click on "My Trips" Step 3 - Enter your 6 digit alphabetic booking reference number and your last name and click on “Find Reservation” Step 4 - Once you are on your reservation page, on the left hand side you will find a blue colour tab that says “Change Trip”. Click the button and it will take you to the option to select the flight that you want to change. You can select either one or all flights as per your requirement. Once you do that it gives you an option to edit the departure and destination airport along with the date. Step 5 - Select the new departure or destination airport if you need to change them, or if you just need to change the date select the new date and click on 'Continue'. This will take you to the next page which shows the new flight options along with the additional cost to make the change. Select the new flight, review once and then click on “Continue”. You will reach the final page where you can select the payment option. Once you make the payment, your flights will be changed and you can retrieve your changed reservation from the home page. Note - If your reservation is booked through a third party then making a change wouldn’t be possible online and you may have to call your travel agency for that.
