Frequently Asked Questions
Delta used to charge Delta airlines change fees for Main Cabin and above tickets, but they have since eliminated them for tickets originating from certain regions. However, if the new flight costs more than the original, you will need to pay the differential amount. Delta Airlines change fees may still apply to tickets where travel originates outside certain regions, depending on the point of origin and the ticket type. Basic Economy fares are typically non-changeable and non-refundable, although cancellation may result in a partial eCredit in certain situations.
As per the Delta flight change policy, if you choose a new flight priced lower than your original flight, Delta will issue an eCredit for the difference. This eCredit can be used towards future travel bookings.
Delta's first priority is to rebook passengers on an alternate flight in case of a flight cancellation or significant delay. However, if Delta cannot find an alternate flight for the passenger and cancels their ticket, or if the passenger chooses to cancel the newly rebooked flight, the following options will be there: Receive an eCredit of the ticket value, preferred Seat, or seat upgrade Adjust or modify their itinerary Request a refund to their original form of payment
There are no Delta Airlines change fees for most of their Main Cabin and above tickets originating from the United States, Canada, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. However, flight change fees may be applicable depending on the point of origin and ticket type for Delta tickets where travel originates outside these regions. To avoid Delta Airlines change fees, you can consider purchasing a Main Cabin or above ticket originating from the abovementioned regions. You can also consider purchasing a flexible fare type that offers more flexibility to change your booking without incurring additional fees.
Delta does not have a specific limit on the number of times you can change your flight. However, the number of changes allowed may depend on the ticket type you have purchased and the fare rules associated with it. For example, Delta's Basic Economy fares are typically non-changeable and non-refundable, while other fare types may allow for more flexibility in making changes. Additionally, some tickets may restrict the number of times you can make changes or require a Delta Flight change fee for each change. It is essential to carefully review the Delta Flight change policy before making any changes.
Delta Same Day Flight Change policy allows passengers to change their flight to an earlier or later flight on the same travel day. The policy is available for passengers with eligible tickets and is subject to availability. Passengers can request a same-day flight change beginning 24 hours before the new flight's scheduled departure time.
